Honorary Member No. 1 (1994) - King Harald V of Norway
There are several similarities between the sea eagle and the Sea Eagle Club of Bodø's first honorary member. "There is something majestic and sovereign about the both of them, and the way they conduct themselves. While commanding respect, they also radiate interest and care for the coming generation.
As leader and patron of the World Wildlife Fund, King Harald has emerged in word and deed as a spokesman for the conservation of endangered species.
Like the sea eagle, he also encourages his offspring - when the time is right - to "leave the nest."
On these grounds, on Saturday 16 May 1994, the Sea Eagle Club of Bodø decided on
King Harald V as the Club's first honorary member.
